Paige | 2010 Senior

This week I met with Paige for the first half of her 2010 Senior Session. Paige is another one of my fabulous senior models, so you’ll be seeing more of her in the fall, too. We were lucky and had couldn’t-have-asked-for-better-weather-if-you-ordered-it-up-yourself weather. You know the kind: warm, sunny, bright blue sky, perfect lighting. I loved meeting Paige, she was so bubbly and friendly! She’s active as a student ambassador and a cheerleader, and it made her such a natural to pose. And she did a fabulous job putting together her outfits and accessories! She asked me in advance if she could bring her boyfriend along for a few shots, to which I said of course! He was a great sport and they are an adorable couple.

The Chase Was On

This adorable little just-turned-two year old gave me a great chase when we met for his session. He led me all over the park. We chased the ducks, we ran down the brick paths, across the bright green grass (thank you, rain!), and even up the steps. All that work was totally worth it. This little guy was just about as sweet as they get. While we there we grabbed some shots of his equally sweet and just as handsome big brother, as well as a few family shots. Once again luck was with us and the rain held off until the very end.

Erica | 2010 Senior

Monday afternoon Erica and I met for her 2010 Senior Session downtown. Once again I was crossing my fingers on the weather, and while it didn’t rain it sure was difficult to find enough light towards the middle of our session. When the landscape lighting came on I got a bit creative and used that to keep shooting a little longer. Erica has one of the most natural smiles I’ve ever seen, and was a dream to work with. She’s active in theater and it really shows in her poise and confidence! I really enjoyed spending the afternoon scoping out locations with her. You’ll be seeing more of Erica as she is one of my 2010 Senior Models and we’ll be doing the second half of her session in the fall.

Beautiful Mama and Her Boys

We watched the weather report, crossed our fingers, and hoped for the best. We were in luck. Saturday morning the rain held off long enough for me to get this fabulous family’s photo session done. We got a few raindrops at the end, but we made it to back to our cards when it literally started to pour down raining. How’s that for timing?! What more could you ask for? Besides this gorgeous mama and her sweet guys? I can’t think of a thing.

I really enjoyed your family, Amy!! And because its Mother’s Day, I just had to throw in a couple of extra shots for your sneak peek. Enjoy!!

Jacob loved the pinwheels I brought along … and wouldn’t you know it, we had enough wind to make it spin!

Mamas in May

The other day I was going through my own snapshots and photographs and came to a startling realization. I’m not in them. Seriously. I have a very small number of photographs with my family that actually include me, the mama. I have tons plenty of shots of both girls, and even a fair number of them with their dad. But the ones with me in them are almost nonexistent very few and far between. So I have resolved to step out from behind the camera a little more and be included in the memories instead of just capturing them.
