Brandon | 2010 Senior

Remember this adorable couple?  She’s one of my fabulous senior reps for 2010 and he came along so that they could get a few shots together, too.  I had so much fun with these two, and I loved working with them.  So needless to say I was thrilled when Brandon’s mom decided to schedule a session for him as well.  And let me just say, I love it when senior guys are so relaxed and easy to work with, so thanks Brandon!

A few football pics, first …

How perfect was it that the sun sets behind the stadium?!  The light was perfection.  And thanks to the school for choosing red for their uniforms. :)

We had to get some football player/cheerleader shots, without a doubt.

Three-peat

While I love all of my littlest clients, I have to make a small confession. This sweet little guy is one of my all-time favorites. I first photographed him when he was a busy 18 monther, then again at the curious age of 2, and now as a Big Brother at 3. Remember this precious little baby girl?  Well she’s blessed with big brother.  And what a big brother he’ll be, I just know it. :)

See, she already knows.

Mom brought along his tricycle and he’s already doing really well with it!  Look at that concentration …

This one may possibly be my favorite … I mean will you look at that smile?!

Check out the awesome sucker from Grandma … and how cool is it that the colors coordinate?! :)

And a family shot, with kisses.

Busy, Busy, Busy Toddler

Remember this busy little one year old?  Sweet Ava is another year older and that meant it was time for her two year pics.  She was every bit as active and busy as last year … just faster. :)   And she was every bit as sweet as I remember.  And she’s got more adorable curls.  We managed to squeeze in her session just after the rain moved through.  Luckily I remembered to tell her mom to put bug spray on her … unfortunately I forgot to put it on me … but luckily her mom was smarter than me and brought it with her. Whew!

Did I mention those currrrrrls?!

LOVE her expression here, so cute.

Slideshow | Kellyn 2010 Senior

Remember the irresistible and stylish Kellyn? Here’s one more (one of her faves!), plus her slideshow. :)
kellyn_mahesh_07-2009_345b

Check back tomorrow for a sneak peek of the sweetest little curly-headed two year old.  This blog has been seriously neglected lately so its time to start playing catch up.  Look for one my favorite little three year olds, and another senior.  And thanks for hanging in there with me despite the lack of posting!  I promise to do better. :)

Mac | 2010 Senior

Mac spends a lot of his free time over at Bridgestreet, so he thought it would make a great location for his senior pictures.  I have to agree, it was a perfect spot.  We scheduled his session for early in the morning, before the mall opened, so we wouldn’t have to deal with the usual crowds of shoppers.  Usually I love to shoot in the late afternoon, when the sun is coming down and the light is all warm and golden.  I’d forgotten how beautiful the early morning light is, too.  I’ll have to drag myself out of bed early more often!

Mac mentioned that he doesn’t usually like pictures of himself.  I said I’d take that as a challenge!  So how’d I do?!

One of my favorite shots and one of my favorite spots from this session.

Never again will I doubt the beauty of morning sunlight.

Kolton | 2010 Senior

So while Kolton didn’t have the mosquitoes attacking for his session, he had the August Alabama HEAT on one of the hottest days we’ve had all summer.  Um, what happened to our mild July temps?!  And while I did more than my fair share of complaining about the heat (and lets just say its a good thing *I* was not being photographed) Kolton didn’t complain at all.  Of all the senior guys I’ve photographed this summer, Kolton gets the award for most relaxed.

His mom suggested we use their friends’ propery for the session.  I was thrilled when we drove up and saw a lovely pond with an iron and wood footbridge, a very cool red barn, and an old antique car.  And we found some absolutely gorgeous light to work with.

Kolton lives plays baseball, so first up was a stop at the high school baseball field for some shots.

And you know me, I always have to get a little sun flare …

That old, red barn I mentioned …

When I saw this old car I knew it was perfect for a few shots.

That fabulous light I mentioned …

There was this huge weeping willow tree by the pond that was just beautiful.

kolton_albright_08-2009_440b

And finally, I was dying to get this shot as soon as we drove up the driveway.  There were these beautiful trees lining the drive and I knew once the sun was setting the light would be perfect.

Brian | 2010 Senior

This latest senior was so relaxed and easy to work with. We got a great variety of shots, and managed to get them all in just as the sun was setting. At one spot we even had to contend with evil mosquitoes. Really, they were evil. Thanks, Brian, for letting me drag you and your mom all around downtown. :)

This was one of the last shots we took, with what was left of the sunlight.  I love how the setting sun was bouncing off the parking garage behind us.

Justin | 2010 Senior

I’ve really been enjoying this senior season, meeting new seniors and finding out what they love.  With Justin it was easy … baseball, baseball, and you guessed it, baseball. :)   For his session we used some of my favorite spots and I challenged myself to make them look different with new angles, and by taking advantage of the light.  I think it worked, but you tell me!  ;)

The light was just perfection in this spot …

Emily | 2010 Senior

I was super excited when Emily’s mom told me she’s a dancer and wanted to include that in her senior session.  I love it when we can bring in things they love into their session.  And how fun is it that my girls dance at the same dance place?!  They were in awe to hear I was photographing one of the senior dancers. :)   Emily was a dream to photograph, so graceful.  And posing was a breeze.  Ok, so I needed a little help from her and her sister on the dance poses.

One of my favorites from her session

Jake | 2010 Senior

I’m getting a little behind in my blogging, so consider this a bit of catch up. I’ve already posted these on Facebook but the blog is lagging a bit behind! I’ve got several more to blog so keep checking in.  They’re already on FB. ;)

Jake is the latest 2010 senior, and aside from playing football he does a pretty amazing job with the guitar, too. I was excited to see he brought it along for some shots and knew the RR tracks and the train depot would be the perfect location to showcase him and his guitar. Jake seemed so relaxed in front of the camera, and his smile was so natural … it made my job all the easier!

One of my favorites of the session … love that serious expression.

jake_montgomery_07-2009_457b

Another favorite!

jake_montgomery_07-2009_411b

It feels awkward to stand and pose with a guitar so I had Jake play a bit.  He’s quite talented!

Train, guitar, sunflare, good-looking guy … perfect combination for a photograph. :)
